Job summary

Lloyd's Syndicate is seeking an experienced Claims Operations Manager to lead governance, operational controls, and data-driven improvements across Claims Operations in the City of London. You will optimise processes, manage regulatory requirements, and embed risk-aware practices across the function.

I am currently partnered with a leading Syndicate who are seeking a Claims Operations Manager to join their growing team.

This role will be a broad Claims Ops position, encompassing; Claims Optimisation, Operational Improvement, Data and MI and more. Key areas of focus for this role will be TPA/Vendor Management, Governance and Audit.

My client is looking for an experienced Claims Ops professional, ideally with Company & Syndicate experience, who can roll their sleeves up and get their hands dirty in different areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust governance frameworks, operational controls and procedures across Claims Operations.
• Maintain oversight of claims operational audits, regulatory requirements and internal control activities.
• Support the delivery of SOX, internal and external audit requirements, alongside wider governance obligations.
• Lead remediation activity arising from audits, reviews and control testing, ensuring actions are effectively addressed and embedded.
• Drive continuous improvement and claims optimisation initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce leakage and strengthen operational controls.
• Lead learning and development initiatives to enhance technical capability, improve performance and support talent development across Claims.
• Build strong relationships with Claims leadership, Finance, Compliance and wider business stakeholders to support effective risk management and operational delivery.
• Oversee subrogation and recoveries, driving the identification, referral and maximisation of recovery opportunities.
• Oversee vendor onboarding, panel governance and delegated authority arrangements, ensuring appropriate controls and oversight are maintained.
• Manage and monitor the performance of third-party suppliers, TPAs and outsourced service providers, ensuring agreed standards and SLAs are met.
• Produce and analyse management information and reporting covering vendor performance, recoveries, audit outcomes, operational risk and key performance indicators.
• Support the delivery of operational, process and technology change initiatives across Claims Operations.
• Ensure policies, procedures and operational controls remain effective, well documented, compliant and fit for purpose.
