Job summary

Edenbrook is seeking a Claims Adjuster specialising in Technology, Media and Intellectual Property to join a growing specialist insurance business in the UK.

You will manage a portfolio of complex claims, assess coverage, investigate liability and negotiate settlements across technology, media and IP risk exposures. An experienced background in Financial Lines, Professional Indemnity, Cyber, Media Liability or Technology claims is preferred.

Qualifications

• Solid experience handling complex technology, media or IP claims.
• Background in Financial Lines, Professional Indemnity, Cyber, Media Liability or Technology claims is desirable.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage claims from initial notification through to resolution.
• Assess policy coverage, liability and quantum for Technology, Media and IP claims.
• Instruct and coordinate external solicitors, counsel and forensic experts as required.
• Liaise with Underwriting teams to provide claims insights and identify emerging trends.
• Maintain accurate claims records and ensure compliance with procedures and authorities.
• Monitor emerging risks across technology, media and IP and report on potential impacts.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Claims Adjuster specialising in Technology, Media and Intellectual Property to join a growing specialist insurance business.

The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of complex and often unique claims, assessing coverage, investigating liability and negotiating settlements across a range of technology-related, media and intellectual property exposures.

This role would suit an experienced Claims Adjuster with a background in Financial Lines, Professional Indemnity, Cyber, Media Liability or Technology claims, who is interested in working with emerging risks and evolving insurance products.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage claims from initial notification through to resolution, ensuring effective and timely handling throughout the claims lifecycle.
• Assess policy coverage, liability and quantum across Technology, Media and Intellectual Property-related claims.
• Investigate allegations of intellectual property infringement, including copyright, trademark, patent and trade secret disputes, where covered by the relevant policy.
• Handle media-related claims involving defamation, copyright infringement, content disputes and other media liability exposures.
• Assess technology-related claims involving software, digital services, technology products and associated professional services.
• Review policy wordings, endorsements and exclusions to determine coverage and identify potential issues.
• Establish and maintain appropriate reserves, reviewing these regularly as claims develop.
• Instruct and manage external solicitors, counsel, forensic specialists and other experts where required.
• Negotiate settlements and work towards commercially appropriate outcomes while managing claims costs.
• Liaise closely with Underwriting teams to provide claims insights, identify emerging trends and support continuous improvements to policy wordings.
• Maintain accurate claims records and ensure compliance with internal procedures, delegated authorities and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Build effective relationships with brokers, policyholders, legal representatives and other stakeholders throughout the claims process.
• Monitor emerging risks and developments across technology, media and intellectual property, assessing their potential impact on claims.
