Overview

The festive season is one of our most exciting and important times of the year, made possible by the energy, warmth and dedication of our store teams. As a Christmas Customer Assistant, you'll be at the heart of the action, greeting customers with a smile, offering product and gift advice, and creating a memorable experience that keeps them coming back all year round.

This role is a great opportunity whether you're just starting your career or have retail or customer service experience and want a fresh challenge. If you love helping people and making their day, this is the job for you.

Located in Ireland. This temporary contract may have potential for a permanent role later depending on local opportunities.

About the role

You will work in a Boots store and report to the Assistant or Store Manager, and your responsibilities will include:

  • Customer Interaction: You\'ll offer thoughtful advice, recommend products and highlight offers to ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • Till Operation: Handling purchases at the counter or supporting self-checkout systems with energy and efficiency.
  • Stock Management: Keep shelves full so customers can find what they need during the busy season.
  • Store Presentation: Ensure areas always look their best.
  • Online order support: You may assist with deliveries, picking and packing for online orders as needed.

What you\'ll need to have

Full training is provided, but these are essential skills or experience:

  • Available to work Bank Holidays including Black Friday week and weekend, Cyber Monday, Christmas Eve, St Stephen\'s Day and New Year\'s Day.
  • Customer Service Skills: comfortable approaching customers and providing a personalised experience.
  • Operations Ready: able to balance customer care with daily shopfloor and operational tasks.
  • Tech-Savvy: happy to learn and use new technology, including handheld devices, tills and self-checkouts.
  • Team Player: collaborative mindset to help the team meet store goals.
  • Physical Stamina: on your feet, standing, walking and lifting.
  • Brand Ambassador: represent Boots ethos, products and services.

Desirable experience (not essential):

  • Experience in a retail or customer-facing environment
  • Familiar with Boots products and services
