Job Description

Children Support Worker opportunities are available in Treharris, Merthyr Tydfil, supporting children and young people within a specialist care setting. This is a hands-on, rewarding role where you’ll help create a safe, stable environment and promote positive outcomes through consistent, person-centred support.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting children and young people with day-to-day routines, emotional wellbeing, and development of independent living skills
• Implementing care and behaviour support plans, using de-escalation approaches and maintaining clear professional boundaries
• Completing accurate daily records and incident reports, and working closely with senior staff and partner professionals to ensure safeguarding standards are met

Requirements & Qualifications

• A passion for supporting children and young people (professional, consistent, and trauma-informed in your approach)
• Relevant experience in a similar setting (e.g., children’s residential, supported accommodation, homeless services, or community-based support)
• Mandatory compliance, including an Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to undertake one)
