Job summary

Qualifications

• Eligible for Social Care Wales registration or working towards it.
• Experience supporting children/young people or transferable relevant experience.
• Full UK manual driving licence and willingness to do rota including sleep-ins.

Job Description

We are recruiting a Children Support Worker to join a supportive residential care setting in Aberdare, Rhondda Cynon Taff. Key Responsibilities

• Supporting young people with daily routines, personal care where required, and meaningful activities that build confidence and independence
• Promoting positive behaviour through clear boundaries, de-escalation techniques, and trauma-informed, person-centred support
• Maintaining accurate daily records, contributing to care plans and risk assessments, and working collaboratively with managers and external professionals

Requirements & Qualifications

• Eligibility for registration with Social Care Wales (or willingness to work towards this where applicable)
• Relevant experience supporting children/young people or transferable experience (e.g., SEN education, youth work, or support work in related services)
• Full UK manual driving licence (typically required to use service vehicles) and willingness to work a rota that may include sleep-in shifts
