Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is looking for a dedicated Children's Support Worker to join our clients' Residential Services in Cwmbran. You will help vulnerable children with daily activities, promote wellbeing, and support their full potential through compassionate care and practical assistance.

The role requires at least 6 months of relevant experience, empathy and resilience, and a willingness to undertake TMVA restraint training. A valid UK driving licence and right to work in the UK are essential.

Qualifications

  • At least 6 months’ experience working with children or in a similar social care setting.
  • Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature.
  • Restraint training TMVA or willingness to undertake a 3-day training course.

Responsibilities

  • Support children and young people in daily activities and interests.
  • Promote independence and wellbeing of young residents.
  • Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips with children.
  • Support children in weekend and evening activities and outings.
  • Protect children from health and welfare risks.
  • Provide emotional and practical support within the home.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines.
  • Assist in managing challenging behaviour and minimise incidents.

Children's Support Worker

Location: Cwmbran, Torfaen, UK

Salary: £14.24 - £28.48 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)

Our client is seeking dedicated Children's Support Workers to join their Children's Residential Services in Cwmbran. Key Responsibilities
  • Support children and young people in their daily activities and interests

  • Support children in weekend and evening activities, from climbing to baking or trips to Butlins
  • Protect children from health and welfare risks
  • Provide emotional and practical support within the home
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines
  • Assist in managing challenging behaviour and minimise incidents
Requirements
  • At least 6 months’ experience working with children or in a similar social care setting
  • Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
  • Restraint trained or willing to undertake a 3-day restraint training course (TMVA)
  • Valid UK Driving Licence
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one
  • Right to work in the UK
