Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Children's Support Worker for a on-site role in Bridgend. You will work in a structured care setting with children and young people, supporting routines, safety, and positive outcomes across day and night shifts.

The role requires an enhanced DBS check and relevant qualifications, with a competitive hourly rate of £14.24–£28.48 (including holiday pay). Training and ongoing support from a specialist recruitment team are provided.

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification (NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care or willingness to work towards one)
• Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to obtain one)
• Ability to work days and nights (including 7am-7pm / 7pm-7am)

• Working within safeguarding procedures, accurately recording incidents, and escalating concerns appropriately

Job Description

We are recruiting a Children's Support Worker to join a supportive team in Bridgend, Bridgend County Borough. This is an on-site, shift-based role supporting children and young people within a structured care setting, helping to maintain safety, routines, and positive outcomes. Our client is an established care provider and all details will remain strictly anonymous.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting young people with day-to-day routines, emotional wellbeing, and positive behaviour support in line with care plans
• Working within safeguarding procedures, accurately recording incidents, and escalating concerns appropriately
• Building professional, consistent relationships while maintaining clear boundaries and promoting independence

Requirements & Qualifications

• A relevant qualification (for example, NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care or willingness to work towards one)
• Previous experience supporting children/young people in residential care, education, or community-based support
• Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to obtain one) and the ability to work days and nights (including 7am-7pm / 7pm-7am shift patterns)
