Job summary

The Tiger Group Consultancy Ltd is seeking a Children’s Residential Support Worker in Maylandsea, Essex. You will help young people aged 5-16 in a residential home, providing daily support, stability and compassionate care within a structured environment.

The role focuses on building trusting relationships, supporting routines and wellbeing, and helping develop essential life skills while following care plans and recording logs for ongoing care planning.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in residential settings is desirable.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities are essential.
• Reliable, compassionate and adaptable in challenging situations.
• Full UK Driving Licence is preferred.

Children's Residential Support Worker

£28392 - £33,025 per annum

3 x 14-hour shifts per week (7:45am - 10:00pm)

About the Role:

As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you'll be an essential part of a supportive and structured environment, helping young people feel safe, valued, and empowered. You'll be there through daily routines, challenging moments, and everything in between — always leading with care, consistency, and compassion.

Rota:

• 3 x 14-hour shifts per week
• Shift time: 7:45am - 10:00pm
• Stable and consistent rota pattern for a great work-life balance

Key Responsibilities:

• Building positive relationships and acting as a trusted adult for young people
• Supporting children with daily routines, activities, and emotional wellbeing
• Promoting independence, life skills, and positive behaviour
• Recording accurate logs, reports, and contributing to care planning

What We're Looking For:

• Experience working with children or young people (residential experience desirable)
• Compassionate, reliable, and confident in challenging situations
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
• Full UK Driving Licence (preferred)
