Job summary

Service Care Solutions Ltd is seeking a dedicated Children’s Residential Support Worker to provide safe, nurturing care for children and young people in residential settings. You will promote emotional and physical wellbeing within a therapeutic framework and contribute to personalised care plans.

The role involves delivering day-to-day activities, safeguarding, reporting concerns, and participating in training, with flexible hours including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins to meet service needs.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children and young people is desirable.
  • Willingness to work towards relevant qualifications in Children and Young People’s Services.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, consistent, and child-centred care to children and young people.
  • Support emotional and psychological wellbeing, fostering a positive environment.
  • Develop and review individual care plans as part of a team.
  • Promote equality, inclusion, and safeguarding for every child.
  • Assist with personal hygiene, life skills and behavioural development.
  • Engage in educational, leisure and social activities, including trips.
  • Follow safeguarding policies, report concerns promptly, and maintain boundaries.
  • Participate in team meetings, training and reflective practice.
  • Assist with household duties and care for unwell children.
  • Be flexible with hours, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.

About the Role:

As a Children's Residential Support Worker you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care and support to children and young people living in residential settings. Your role will be pivotal in promoting their emotional, physical and psychological wellbeing while working within a therapeutic and innovative framework.

Candidate Responsibilities:
  • Provide safe, consistent, and child-centred care to children and young people.
  • Support emotional and psychological wellbeing, fostering a positive environment.
  • Work as part of a team to develop and review individual care plans.
  • Promote equality, inclusion, and safeguard every child in your care.
  • Support children in developing personal hygiene, life skills, and acceptable behavioural standards.
  • Engage children in educational, leisure, and social activities, including trips and holidays.
  • Follow safeguarding policies, report any concerns immediately, and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and reflective practice.
  • Undertake household duties like cooking, cleaning, and caring for children who are unwell.
  • Be flexible with working hours, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins, to meet service needs.
