Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Residential Support Worker to join a lively and energetic children's home in the Cardiff area. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people by providing a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment. You will be part of a caring team led by a registered manager, committed to fostering positive experiences and personal growth for each child.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing therapeutic care and emotional support tailored to each child's needs
• Acting as a positive role model to promote independence and confidence
• Supporting children with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and engaging in shared interests like fashion and art
• Building trusting relationships and encouraging hobbies and outdoor activities
• Assisting with household tasks and maintaining a safe, homely environment
• Supporting children to overcome challenges and reach their full potential

Requirements & Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children and young people in a care setting
• A full UK driving licence is essential
• The ability to remain calm, show resilience, and work flexibly, including shifts and sleep-ins
• Excellent communication skills and a positive, energetic attitude
• A caring nature and genuine interest in supporting young people's development
