Job summary

Purosearch Ltd. is recruiting a Children’s Home Registered Manager to lead a 3-bed EBD service in Burton-on-Trent. You’ll ensure Ofsted readiness, regulatory compliance and high-quality, trauma-informed care for looked-after children.

The role requires QCF Level 5 or working towards, 2+ years supervisory experience in residential care, strong leadership and relationship-building with families and local authorities. A competitive salary and extensive benefits are offered.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day management of the 3-bed EBD children\'s home.
• Ensure the home operates in line with Ofsted requirements and Children\'s Homes Regulations.
• Provide high-quality, trauma-informed and child-centred care.
• Create a stable, nurturing and supportive environment where children feel safe, valued and listened to.
• Lead, motivate, develop and inspire a high-performing staff team.
• Promote positive outcomes across education, health, independence and emotional wellbeing.
• Maintain regulatory compliance and ensure the home is inspection-ready.
• Promote a strong safeguarding culture throughout the service.
• Oversee care planning, risk management and quality of care.
• Manage staffing, occupancy, budgets and resources effectively.
• Build relationships with families, local authorities and external professionals.
• Monitor service quality and staff performance, driving continuous improvement.
• Support staff through supervision, development and performance management.
• Contribute to wider development of services across the region.

What We're Looking For

• QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or working towards completion
• At least two years' recent supervisory or management experience within a Registered Children's Home
• Proven experience within children's residential care
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Child-centred approach and genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people
• Strong knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and safeguarding requirements
• Positive track record with Ofsted inspections
• Experience supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties
• Strong communication, organisation and decision-making skills
• Ability to build effective relationships with families, local authorities, commissioners and partner agencies
• Full UK driving licence
