Job description
Job Overview

To provide highly specialist physiotherapy intervention to Children and young people (CYP) 0-19 within the borough of Greenwich, and act as a resource for their families and carers across all settings.

This specialist role will support CYP with complex needs who attend Specialist RBG School Settings (Primary and Secondary provision).

The post holder will provide assessment and intervention to support children within the early year's team, including assessment and advice via the monthly 'Drop in' clinics; follow up of children that require on‑going physiotherapy care and support to multi‑disciplinary discharges into the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team lead responsibilities for physiotherapy in Early Years, including service/operational management and reporting to the Band 8a Early Years Service Lead.
  • Liaise closely with other services and agencies to provide a smooth coordinated service based on best practice.
  • Assist with service development and provide information on issues pertaining to the specialist area on a regular basis.
  • Provide training and advice for families and carers across all settings on issues pertaining to Children's Physiotherapy.
  • Facilitate routine and urgent new patient clinics and appointments.
  • Autonomously manage a complex early years and special schools caseload simultaneously.
  • Identify clinical need for specialist onward referrals (e.g., orthopaedics, neurology, spinal team).
  • Carry out postural management assessments and CPIPS assessments.
  • Effectively carry out standardised outcome measures (e.g., general movements, HINE) and integrate these into comprehensive care plans.
  • Fully support junior members of staff, including supervision and teaching.
  • Liaise with wider MDT and tertiary centres.
  • Integrate within the special school wider MDT and staff to support CYP.
