Band 3 Health Care Support Worker with the Integrated Children's Community Nursing Service
An great opportunity has arisen to join our established team of qualified nurses and Health Care Support Workers, caring for children and young people with complex health needs and / or learning disabilities, within Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated health care support worker to join the innovative and expanding Integrated Children's Community Nursing Service.
With part time contracts starting at 20 hours and annualised hours, this post offers flexible working opportunities whilst ensuring that service needs are met.
Future planning towards a Band 4 development programme is underway. We also encourage established staff with relevant Level 3 NVQ to apply for Level 4 HeCert.
The Integrated Children's Community Nursing Service (ICCNS) provides day and night care to children with very complex health needs, including those with tracheostomies and long-term home ventilation. Care is delivered in homes, special schools, mainstream schools, nurseries, and clinics across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.
ICCNS is currently working towards developing a Weekend Club, with a longer-term vision of establishing a small respite facility.
As a Health Care Support Worker, you will work in partnership with families, carers, and the multidisciplinary/multi-agency team to ensure children in the community receive the care they need. The team is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families, and you will be a key part of that mission.
This post offers an excellent opportunity to gain community experience and be part of a developing, innovative service. Full training will be provided, and applicants will be required to undertake all necessary training relevant to the role.
The role involves a certain amount of manual handling, using provided equipment to ensure safe and effective care delivery.
Applicants should hold (or be willing to undertake) a Level 3 NVQ or equivalent qualification in Health & Social Care or a related field.
Future planning includes a Band 4 development programme, and we encourage staff with relevant qualifications to apply for the Level 4 Higher Education Certificate.
