Job summary

Aspire People are seeking a Child Psychology Graduate to support pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs across schools in Manchester. The role involves working 1:1 or in small groups to help pupils manage emotions and develop coping strategies, alongside teachers and pastoral teams.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in Child Psychology, Psychology, Education, or a related subject, and demonstrate a calm, patient, and resilient approach with young learners.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Child Psychology, Psychology, Education, or a related subject.
  • Experience or interest in SEMH, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing is desirable.
  • Calm, patient, and consistent approach with children and young people.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs on a 1:1 or small-group basis
  • Helping pupils manage emotions and develop positive coping strategies
  • Supporting behaviour plans and individual support strategies
  • Building trusting and positive relationships with pupils
  • Encouraging confidence, resilience, and independence
  • Supporting pupils during lessons, transitions, and unstructured times
  • Working alongside teachers, pastoral staff, and SENCOs
  • Recording observations and feeding back on pupil progress

Aspire People are seeking passionate Child Psychology Graduates to support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs across a range of schools in Manchester.

This role would suit someone who is particularly interested in child development, behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

The Role
  • Supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs on a 1:1 or small-group basis
  • Helping pupils manage emotions and develop positive coping strategies
  • Supporting behaviour plans and individual support strategies
  • Building trusting and positive relationships with pupils
  • Encouraging confidence, resilience, and independence
  • Supporting pupils during lessons, transitions, and unstructured times
  • Working alongside teachers, pastoral staff, and SENCOs
  • Recording observations and feeding back on pupil progress
The Ideal Candidate
  • A degree in Child Psychology, Psychology, Education, or a related subject
  • A strong interest in SEMH, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing
