Aspire People are seeking a Child Psychology Graduate to support pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs across schools in Manchester. The role involves one-to-one or small-group support, helping learners manage emotions and develop coping strategies, and assisting with behaviour plans.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Child Psychology or related subject, has a genuine interest in SEMH, and demonstrates calm, patient, and confident communication skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Child Psychology, Psychology, Education, or a related subject.
• Strong interest in SEMH, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing.
• Experience working with children or young people is desirable.
• Calm, patient, and consistent approach.
• Confident communication and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain composed when supporting challenging behaviour.
• Genuine commitment to helping pupils reach their potential.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs on a 1:1 or small-group basis.
• Helping pupils manage emotions and develop positive coping strategies.
• Supporting behaviour plans and individual support strategies.
• Building trusting and positive relationships with pupils.
• Encouraging confidence, resilience, and independence.
• Supporting pupils during lessons, transitions, and unstructured times.
• Working alongside teachers, pastoral staff, and SENCOs.
• Recording observations and feeding back on pupil progress.
