Aspire People is seeking passionate Child Psychology Graduates to support pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs across a range of schools in Manchester. This role is ideal for those drawn to child development, behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

You will work 1:1 or in small groups, help pupils manage emotions, support behaviour plans, and build positive relationships.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Child Psychology, Psychology, Education, or related subject.
  • Strong interest in SEMH, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable.
  • Calm, patient and consistent approach.
  • Confident communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain composed when supporting challenging behaviour.
  • Genuine commitment to helping pupils reach their potential.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs on a 1:1 or small-group basis.
  • Helping pupils manage emotions and develop positive coping strategies.
  • Supporting behaviour plans and individual support strategies.
  • Building trusting and positive relationships with pupils.
  • Encouraging confidence, resilience, and independence.
  • Supporting pupils during lessons, transitions, and unstructured times.
  • Working alongside teachers, pastoral staff, and SENCOs.
  • Recording observations and feeding back on pupil progress.
