A supportive care home in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a Chef to prepare nutritious meals for residents. Responsibilities include meal planning, managing food stocks and orders, and ensuring a hygienic kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in meal preparation and a friendly, caring demeanor to efficiently interact with residents. This role requires compliance with health and safety regulations, including HACCP. Competitive pay at £13.50/hour, with additional benefits such as enhanced pay on bank holidays and a refer-a-friend bonus of up to £1,000.

As our Chef you will plan, prepare and cook a wide variety of meals which are appealing, nutritious and meet the dietary needs of all of our residents. You’ll ensure sufficient food stocks are available and you will be responsible for placing orders with suppliers. You will supervise other team members and will interact with our residents on a daily basis – so you’ll be friendly, caring and kind whilst respecting our residents’ dignity at all times.
Here’s some other important things you need to know: You’ll need to understand and comply with statutory and legal requirements such as HACCP, Health and Safety, COSHH, Environmental Health, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment within the kitchen and dining areas. You’ll ensure that all kitchen equipment is in full, safe working order, immediately report any faults to the management team.
Additional Information: Ideally, we’re looking for someone who can work Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, though standard weekend shifts are also available.
