Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced Chef for a contract catering site in the United Kingdom. You will lead day-to-day cooking, manage a station, and uphold safety and hygiene standards while delivering high-quality meals.

The ideal candidate will have a Level 2 in Catering and Hospitality, proven chef experience, strong teamwork and time-management skills, and be prepared for DBS checks. This is an on-site role with weekend work likely.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Chef in contract catering.
• Level 2 in Catering & Hospitality or equivalent.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.
• Knowledge of food safety, storage and sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day food preparation and duties assigned by senior chefs to meet site standards and quality.
• Manage cooking at a specific station and ensure timely delivery of dishes.
• Ensure safety, hygiene, and proper use of kitchen utensils and equipment on site.
• Notify Senior Chefs when inventory is running low to keep stock adequate.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to maintain high-quality food and service across shifts.
