Mencap is seeking a proactive Assistant Shop Manager for our Castleford shop, 22.5 hours across 3 days per week, on a permanent contract. The role involves managing a small team, delivering strong customer service, and driving donations and sales.

You will support stock control, Gift Aid sign-ups, budgeting, and weekly banking while ensuring H&S compliance. The role requires flexibility and occasional travel for training and store setup support.

Qualifications

• Prior assistant manager or supervisor experience, preferably in charity retail.
• Flexible with working hours, including weekends/bank holidays.
• Willing to travel to meetings/trainings and help launch new stores.

Responsabilités

• Develop in-store systems and promote donations and sales to maximise profits.
• Represent Mencap and uphold its values in daily operations.
• Manage cash handling and health & safety, and build a strong volunteer team with training and reviews.
• Sign up donors to Gift Aid and maximise income from donations.
• Ensure store presentation remains high and stock sourced locally.
