Job summary

Mencap is seeking an Assistant Shop Manager for our new Ashtead shop. The role is 37.5 hours per week on a permanent basis, with a 7-day rota and flexible days. You will lead store operations, drive donations and sales, and support a team of volunteers and staff to meet targets.

Qualifications

• Experience in charity retail and managing a team.
• Flexible with weekends and Bank Holidays.
• Willing to travel to occasional meetings and events.
• Aligned with Mencap values and mission.

Responsibilities

• Manage store to maximise profits and ensure efficient operations.
• Sign up donors to the Gift Aid scheme to maximise income.
• Recruit, train and develop volunteers; supervise paid staff.
• Oversee cash handling, health and safety, and stock from local donors.
