About the roles

KidsOut needs someone who brings excellent chairing skills to lead the Board and CEO through change. Strategic knowledge, influence and an ambitious passion for supporting children are required. Credibility to represent KidsOut and positively grow the reputation and value of the charity alongside the new CEO will be important. Most of all, a values‑aligned and authentic, motivated and committed leader is needed as Chair.

You will be an experienced charity board member, ideally with chairing experience, a strong understanding of good governance and cross‑sector and commercial experience. You will have a passion and willingness to learn and to develop others so that the Board can thrive and support the executive and wider staff team at KidsOut.

You will oversee internal controls, risk management, fundraising and external audit processes. You will provide strategic guidance for the Board and executives on financial matters, planning, governance compliance and resource management.

You will bring enthusiasm for numbers, an analytical mindset and a values‑led approach. Working alongside the Board and executive team, you will have curiosity, sound judgment and a willingness to explore new ideas as part of a collaborative and supportive board.

You must be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with senior‑level experience in finance, audit or accountancy and an understanding of charity financial governance. You should be risk‑aware, thoughtful and committed to ensuring that every pound raised is used effectively to deliver outstanding care and support the long‑term sustainability of KidsOut.
