Job summary

Savills plc is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee the smooth running of a leisure centre, lead staff recruitment and training, and ensure safety and customer welfare through strict health and safety standards.

You will manage invoices, supplier relationships, and service contracts while reporting to the Centre Manager. The role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to centre operations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and/or experience managing services to an agreed budget.
• Able to work on own initiative and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Flexible approach to working patterns in a Leisure environment.
• Experience in maintenance services in busy public environment.
• Experience in managing security, cleaning and maintenance staff.
• Experience in setting up and administering detailed records.
• NEBOSH Health & Safety qualifications.
• Operational experience in retail sector at supervisory/ managerial level.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Liaison with Police, Fire and Government Enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Collate and check routine invoices and approve within agreed limits.
• Issue purchase orders for non-routine expenditure.
• Liaise with occupiers to ensure compliance with Tenants Handbook in particular with regards to shop fascia lighting, shop front cleanliness, refuse management, deliveries, key holders.
• Check occupiers units on a regular basis having regard for state of repair.
• Supervise service contracts and maintaining up-to-date records of all work carried out by outside contractors.
• To ensure that the Operations Report is accurate up to date at all times.
• Ensure compliance at all times with operational standards.
• Attend all management meetings and other meetings as requested by Head Office.
