Stantonbury Leisure Centre in Milton Keynes is seeking an Operations Manager to support the Centre Manager in delivering safe, efficient and customer‑focused facilities.

You will lead duty managers, manage health and safety, contractors, and maintenance, develop staff rotas, and work with partners to grow services. This is a full‑time permanent role with evenings and weekend shifts.

• Health and safety knowledge.
• Staff leadership and rostering experience.
• Contractors management and maintenance oversight.

Responsibilities

• Support the Centre Manager to ensure safe, compliant facilities.
• Lead the Hub Duty Managers and operational staff including casuals and lifeguards.
• Oversee health and safety provision with Theatre Technical team and Landlord oversight.
• Grow services by aligning Theatre and Leisure Centre operations and maximizing sales.

Job description

Stantonbury Leisure Centre is looking to recruit a Operations Manager to join our team!

The post-holder will support the Centre Manager in enabling all partners to make best use of the facilities and activities offered by the service. The post-holder will be responsible for the health and safety, management of contractors and maintenance, quality assurance, sports development and children activities.

The post holder will be required to work a range of shift patterns with attendance during evenings and weekends when facilities are open to the public. Occasional unsocial hours for call outs or late-finishing events.

Role Summary

• Work as part of the Hub Leadership Team supporting the growth and maximising the opportunity to increase sales, streamline operations and develop opportunities for the Theatre and Leisure Centre to work together.
• Oversee the operational management of SLC ensuring it is always staffed appropriately, clean, safe and compliant for all users. Maintain a high standard of customer service
• Management of the Health and Safety provision across the Hub alongside the Theatre Technical team, the Leisure Centre Manager and the Landlord (SS).
• Lead the team of SLC Duty Managers and other operational duty staff including oversight of their recruitment, training, rota’s and supervision including casual staff, lifeguards, and fitness teams.
