Job summary

T3AM Global is recruiting on behalf of one of the UK's established ethnic supermarket chains, to appoint a Group Purchasing & Procurement Manager leading centralised buying across multiple locations in the North West.

You will drive a data-driven, centralised purchasing model, review suppliers and costs, and implement improved procurement processes to safeguard product availability, quality and competitive pricing for customers.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing, procurement, buying or category management within grocery, supermarket, food retail or wholesale environments.
• Strong supplier negotiation and commercial management skills.
• Proven experience managing purchasing budgets, supplier relationships and product costs.
• Excellent analytical skills with pricing, margins, sales and purchasing data.
• Strong understanding of stock management, product availability and supply chain processes.
• Ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement improved purchasing procedures.
• Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop centralised purchasing and procurement strategy across multiple supermarket locations.
• Review suppliers, negotiate improved terms and consolidate purchasing where beneficial.
• Analyse product costs, buying volumes, margins and supplier performance for improvements.
• Establish centralised supplier records, purchasing procedures, product information and pricing controls.
• Manage supplier relationships across grocery, fresh produce, meat, imported products and other categories.
• Collaborate with operations and systems teams to improve purchasing, stock replenishment and inventory management.
• Introduce purchasing KPIs, cost-saving initiatives and data-driven reporting to improve profitability.
