Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a vigilant CCTV Operator to join the Derby-based CCTV Control Room. You will monitor live feeds, respond to incidents, and maintain logs while complying with data protection rules. The role requires staying calm under pressure and willingness to work nights and weekends.

Essentially, you will operate CCTV equipment, software and alarm systems, with prior CCTV experience preferred and a valid SIA Front Line CCTV licence.

Qualifications

• A valid SIA Front Line CCTV licence.
• Previous CCTV Operator experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor CCTV screens and alarm systems for suspicious activity.
• Track individuals and events across areas to identify threats or breaches.
• Review footage to detect incidents or patterns of behaviour.
• Report security breaches to appropriate teams or emergency services.
• Maintain accurate logs and incident reports.
• Carry out checks of CCTV cameras and equipment.
• Escalate significant faults to technical support.
• Ensure footage is stored in compliance with data protection rules.
• Support training of new team members on CCTV systems and protocols.
• Work with security personnel and emergency services providing real-time footage access.
