Job summary

Brockenhurst College is hiring a Catering Technician to support Hospitality and Catering facilities. The role is based on annualised hours (37 hours per week over 38 weeks per year) with a salary of £24,834 per annum, pro rata.

You will work with lecturers and students to maintain hygiene, safety and efficiency in kitchens, restaurant and public areas. The role involves ordering, deliveries, first aid, safety checks, and Open Evenings support, with opportunities to partake in college events and

Qualifications

• Good level of literacy and numeracy.
• Previous experience in this type of role.
• Knowledge of store systems.
• Ability to communicate with students and staff effectively.
• Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
• IT literate.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining kitchen, restaurant and public areas to Environmental Health standards after practical sessions.
• Cleaning equipment and utensils quickly and hygienically.
• Keeping work areas storerooms clean and safely organised.
• Preparing, collecting and collating food orders for teaching staff.
• Issuing and receiving equipment and foodstuffs, including paperwork.
• Receiving deliveries and processing documentation.
