Job summary

Colchester Institute is seeking a Technician - Hospitality to support the curriculum across Kitchens and Restaurant while ensuring equipment safety and timely preparation of class materials. You will help manage stock so all courses run smoothly.

The role is part-time (18.5 hours per week, 40 weeks per year) and on campus. The ideal candidate has practical kitchen experience and a collaborative approach to support teaching and learners.

Qualifications

• Education to level 2 or above and/or a professional qualification in relevant subject area or equivalent.
• Minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics.
• GCSE 4+ or C and above / CSE Level 1 / O-Level C or above / Level 2 Adult Numeracy or Literacy or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Supporting teachers and students with the curriculum.
• Preparing all relevant materials.
• Maintaining all Kitchens equipment and reporting anything to the technician supervisor where needed.
• Adhering to Health and Safety Regulations.
• Keeping stock at a reasonable level and reordering from suppliers where needed.
• Maintaining and cleaning kitchens.
