An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Catering Supervisor to join our dedicated team of staff at the Western Isles Hospital. Working closely with the Catering Manager and Chefs you will ensure there is a high quality of service provision and ensuring food safety systems are followed.
You will be responsible for supporting all catering staff within the department, ensuring the correct systems and policies are followed; this includes stores, kitchen, dining rooms, and the patient food service. This is a hands-on position where you will be primarily responsible for front of house sevices, and the daily running of the wider catering department. You should have excellent communication skills with an eye for detail, be a good problem solver and always looking at ways to support and improve the service.
A current intermediate food hygiene certificate is a requirement of the post and the ability to demonstrate an understanding of a food safety system including having a good understanding of the current Allergen legislation are all essential for the post.
Hours of work are over a 3 week cycle, working up to 5 days per week with shifts between 7am –7.30pm including occasional weekends.
We offer enhanced rates of pay for hours worked at the weekend and a generous annual leave entitlement of 27 days rising to 33 days including public holidays. We also offer access to the NHS pension scheme and to paid special leave.
