An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Catering Supervisor to join our dedicated team at Western Isles Hospital. Working closely with the Catering Manager and Chefs, you will ensure high-quality service provision and adherence to food safety systems.
You will support all catering staff within the department, ensuring correct systems and policies are followed across stores, kitchen, dining rooms, and patient food service. This is a hands-on role primarily responsible for front of house services and the daily operation of the wider catering department. You should have excellent communication skills, an eye for detail, be a good problem solver, and always look for ways to improve the service.
A current intermediate food hygiene certificate is required, along with an understanding of food safety systems and allergen legislation.
Hours are over a 3-week cycle, working up to 5 days per week with shifts between 7am – 7.30pm, including occasional weekends.
We offer enhanced pay rates for weekend hours, a generous annual leave entitlement of 27 days rising to 33 days including public holidays, access to the NHS pension scheme, and paid special leave.
This role is ideal for someone with supervisory experience seeking a new challenge and capable of motivating and leading a team.
