Job summary

Mitie is seeking a Catering Assistant to deliver excellent service while adhering to cleaning schedules and SLA agreements. The role is a permanent, part-time position based at B&Q, Manton Wood, Worksop.

Responsibilities include preparing dining areas, serving in portions, cleaning, cash handling, and maintaining records. Desirable candidates have catering experience and basic Food Hygiene/Health & Safety certificates, with strong numeracy and teamwork skills.

We're looking for a Catering Assistant who will deliver excellent service standards, while meeting SLA agreements and adhering to cleaning schedules.

Hours: 16 hours per week
Shift Pattern : (Sunday to Friday) Fully Flexible
Pay: £12.74 per hour
Location: B&Q, Manton Wood, Worksop, Nottinghamshire, England, S80 2PU

Role Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain dining and service areas, including furniture, trolleys, and cleaning equipment.
• Serve food in correct portions and wash dishes, cutlery, and catering equipment.
• Clean all catering areas daily and follow health and safety standards.
• Handle cash collection, banking, and maintain records and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with customers, managers, and colleagues to deliver excellent service.
  

What we're looking for:

• Previous catering experience in a similar environment (desirable).
• Basic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety certificates (training provided if not held).
• Adequate numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.
• Passion for customer service and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Adaptable, detail-oriented, and confident with strong organisational and time management skills.
