Job summary

Mitie is seeking a Catering Assistant at B&Q, Manton Wood, Worksop, Nottinghamshire. You will deliver excellent service, meet SLA agreements, and adhere to cleaning schedules while maintaining catering areas.

The role is permanent, 16 hours per week with a Sunday to Friday fully flexible shift pattern; pay £12.74 per hour. We provide benefits including a virtual GP, Salary Finance, Choices benefits platform, MiDeals discounts, cycle-to-work, and life cover.

Qualifications

• Previous catering experience in a similar environment (desirable).
• Basic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety certificates (training provided if not held).
• Adequate numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.
• Passion for customer service and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Adaptable, detail-oriented, and confident with strong organisational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain dining and service areas, including furniture, trolleys, and cleaning equipment.
• Serve food in correct portions and wash dishes, cutlery, and catering equipment.
• Clean all catering areas daily and follow health and safety standards.
• Handle cash collection, banking, and maintain records and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with customers, managers, and colleagues to deliver excellent service.
