Job summary

Mitie in Wellingborough is seeking a Catering Assistant to deliver excellent service while meeting SLA agreements and sticking to cleaning schedules. This permanent part-time role is 16 hours per week over 4 days, with a pay rate of £12.74 per hour at B&Q, Rutherford Drive, NN8 6XA.

You will prepare and maintain dining areas, serve food, handle cash, and ensure health and safety standards are followed, working both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Catering experience in a similar environment preferred.
• Basic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety certificates (training provided if not held).
• Adequate numeracy, literacy and communication skills.
• Passion for customer service and ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain dining and service areas, including furniture, trolleys, and cleaning equipment.
• Serve food in correct portions and wash dishes, cutlery, and catering equipment.
• Clean all catering areas daily and follow health and safety standards.
• Handle cash collection, banking, and maintain records and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with customers, managers, and colleagues to deliver excellent service.
