Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Catering Assistant at John Radcliffe Hospital in Headington, Oxford. The role is full-time (35 hours per week) with an annual salary of £23,195.81 and a permanent contract.

Main duties include preparing and maintaining dining areas, serving portions, cleaning, and handling cash as well as maintaining records. The position requires basic food hygiene, health & safety certificates (training provided if not held), and good numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Adequate numeracy, literacy, and communication skills are required.
• Experience in catering is desirable.
• Certificates in basic food hygiene and health & safety are preferred or training provided.

• Communicate effectively with customers, managers, and colleagues to deliver excellent service.

What we are looking for

• Previous catering experience in a similar environment (desirable).
• Basic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety certificates (training provided if not held).
• Adequate numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.
• Passion for customer service and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Adaptable, detail-oriented, and confident with strong organisational and time management skills.
