Job summary

Mitie Group are seeking a Catering Assistant to deliver service standards in a busy DC environment. You will prepare dining areas, serve food, wash equipment, and uphold health and safety rules.

Permanent contract, 30 hours per week, £13.49 per hour. Training provided for food safety; good numeracy and teamwork skills are valued to support customers and colleagues on site.

Qualifications

• Previous catering experience in a similar environment (desirable).
• Basic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety certificates (training provided if not held).
• Adequate numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.

• Prepare and maintain dining and service areas, including furniture, trolleys, and cleaning equipment.
• Serve food in correct portions and wash dishes, cutlery, and catering equipment.
• Clean all catering areas daily and follow health and safety standards.
• Handle cash collection, banking, and maintain records and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with customers, managers, and colleagues to deliver excellent service.
