Job summary

Finning (UK) Ltd in Cumbria is seeking a hands-on Field Service Engineer to diagnose and repair Caterpillar machines at customer sites, producing accurate quotes and service plans. You will use dealer software, attend sites, and ensure work is completed to high safety and quality standards.

You will work with a team of skilled engineers, travel to customer sites, and support a broad range of Finning's CAT products. The role offers a competitive package and clear development pathways.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained / NVQ Level 3 preferred in Land Based Eng / Plant Fitting.
• Knowledge of field-based diagnosis tools and equipment essential.
• Heavy Earth Moving equipment operating knowledge preferred.
• LDV driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Provide estimate of arrival time at customer site based on job instructions.
• Register arrival with site management and adhere to procedures.
• Diagnose causes with customer operators and provide detailed quotes.
• Identify parts and delivery times to plan service re-visits.
• Undertake repair and service work to the agreed plan and reinstall components.
