Job summary

Millennium & Copthorne Hotels is looking for a Casual Maintenance Assistant for The Copthorne Hotel Manchester, located in Salford. Candidates should have experience in general property maintenance and preferably in a hotel environment.

This role involves assisting with the delivery and installation of furniture, as well as carrying out minor repairs and ensuring safety standards. The position offers an hourly rate of £12.71 and various employee benefits. This is a fixed-term casual position ending on December 31, 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience of general property maintenance essential, hotel environment preferred.
• Flexibility to work weekends and on a rota basis.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations is important.

The Copthorne Hotel Manchester is seeking a Casual Maintenance Assistant to join a busy team.

What do we expect from a Maintenance Assistant?

• Assist with the delivery, assembly, and installation of new bedroom furniture
• Support furniture replacement and refurbishment projects across the hotel
• Move, position, and install furniture safely and efficiently within guest bedrooms and other hotel areas
• Carry out minor repairs and adjustments to furniture as required
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment
• Work closely with the Housekeeping and Maintenance teams to minimize disruption to hotel operations
• Report any issues, defects, or project delays to the Maintenance Manager
• Comply with all Health & Safety policies and procedures
• Provide general maintenance support related to furniture installation projects as required

What we are looking for?

• Positive, ‘can do attitude’
• Experience of general property maintenance, including electrical. Hotel maintenance experience is advantageous
• Flexibility to work on a rota basis, including weekends
• Knowledge of Health & Safety at Work regulations
• The ability to work as part of a team or independently, as required
• The ability to respond to queries quickly and problem solve effectively
