Job summary

Join Cranfield Conference Centre is looking for a genuine person with warmth and enthusiasm to bring a positive can‑do attitude to work every day. The Casual Kitchen Porter will help keep kitchens clean, tidy and hygienic, support with washing utensils, and assist the team during service.

Uniform and meals on duty are provided. The role emphasizes COSHH compliance, safe handling of chemicals, and following health and hygiene standards. Applications may close early if filled.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a busy kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Keep kitchen and adjacent areas clean, tidy and hygienic as directed.
• Wash, dry and store service wear and cooking items after use.
• Use cleaning products safely and in accordance with training.
• Maintain records of cleaning duties performed during shift.
• Operate and report faults for equipment to the Duty Chef.
• Use Personal Protective Equipment per COSHH guidelines.
• Carry out other reasonable tasks as requested by management.
• Comply with Health, Safety and Hygiene standards and departmental instructions.

Casual Kitchen Porter

Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Ensure that the kitchen and associated areas are maintained in a clean, tidy and hygienic condition,including floors within and leading into the kitchen
• Ensure all service wear and cooking items are thoroughly washed, cleaned and dried and returned to designated storage areas
• Ensure all chemicals and cleaning product are used as directed by the manufacturer and in accordance to the training given
• Maintain records for all cleaning duties undertaken during shift
• Use and maintain equipment in the department as trained and to report immediately any faults to the Duty Chef
• Ensure all Personal Protective Equipment is used as specified by COSHH guidelines
• Carry out any other reasonable task as requested by a member of the management team
• Comply with company procedures and legal requirements including Health, Safety and Hygiene standards
• Ensure all tasks are carried out in accordance with departmental working instructions
