Job summary

Wilson Vale is recruiting a Kitchen Porter to join our team at one of our conference venues in Cambridge. This casual/zero-hour role supports the smooth running of our kitchen across café lunch and dinner service, private dinners, and events.

You will wash up, clean equipment, maintain hygiene, assist chefs with basic food prep, handle deliveries and waste, and help with event set-up and clear-down. We value teamwork, reliability and a positive attitude in a busy, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen porter experience preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen.
• Commitment to food hygiene and safety rules.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across areas.

We are currently recruiting for a Kitchen Porter to join our team at one of our conference venues in Cambridge CB3 9AL.

Please note this is a casual/zero hour contract.

As a Kitchen Porter, you’ll support the smooth running of our kitchen across café lunch and dinner service, private dinners, formal events, buffets and conferences. Your responsibilities will include washing up, cleaning kitchen equipment, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, assisting chefs with basic food preparation, handling deliveries and waste, and supporting with event set-up and clear-down.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Have experience working in a similar role and environment
• Be highly organised and comfortable working in a high-pressured environment
• Ensure you have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety
• Keep up standards of hygiene and ensure all areas are clean and tidy
• Have excellent customer service and social skills
• Be responsible for the preparation and serving of food to staff
• Have a can do attitude and will work well as part of a team
