Job summary

Wilson Vale is recruiting a Kitchen Porter for a Cambridge venue on a casual/zero-hour contract. The role covers cafe lunch and dinner service, private dinners, formal events, buffets and conferences, supporting the smooth running of the kitchen.

Responsibilities include washing up, cleaning equipment, maintaining hygiene, assisting chefs, handling deliveries and waste, and helping with event setup and clear-down. Equal opportunities employer.

We are currently recruiting for a Kitchen Porterto join our team at one of our conference venuesin Cambridge CB3 9AL.

Please note this is a casual/zero hour contract.

We work in office restaurants, independent schools and at conference venues with the same high-end ethos throughout.

As a Kitchen Porter, you’ll support the smooth running of our kitchen across café lunch and dinner service, private dinners, formal events, buffets and conferences. Your responsibilities will include washing up, cleaning kitchen equipment, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, assisting chefs with basic food preparation, handling deliveries and waste, and supporting with event set-up and clear-down.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Have experience working in a similar role and environment
• Be highly organized and comfortable working in a high-pressured environment
• Ensure you have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety
• Keep up standards of hygiene and ensure all areas are clean and tidy
• Have excellent customer service and social skills
• Be responsible for the preparation and serving of food to staff
• Have a can do attitude and will work well as part of a team
