Job summary

Serco Limited in Telford is seeking a Bar Assistant to deliver friendly service, serve drinks and food, and help run a smooth bar operation across the site.

You will work casual part-time shifts, including evenings and weekends, and contribute to stock control, cleanliness, and compliance with cash handling procedures. The role requires 18+ to serve alcohol and a proactive, team-oriented attitude.

Location: Lilleshall National Sports and Conferencing Centre, Newport, TF10 9AT

Salary: Paying up to £12.71 per hour

Schedule: Casual contract. Complete a range of shifts between 11am and 1am, Monday to Sunday, to meet the needs of the business.

What you’ll do as a Bar Assistant

• Deliver excellent customer service and create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all visitors
• Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as food items, efficiently and professionally
• Follow all financial and cash-handling procedures accurately
• Replenish and rotate stock, maintaining appropriate stock levels and reporting requirements to management
• Carry out cleaning duties and maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and presentation
• Support functions, events, and bar operations across the site as required

• You’re passionate about providing excellent customer service and take pride in your work
• You have experience in a bar, café, retail, hospitality, or other customer-focused environment
• You’re confident working as part of a team and can adapt to changing business needs
• You’re willing to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends
• You must be aged 18 or over due to the requirement to serve alcohol
