Job summary

HC-One is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our care home team. You’ll help prepare and serve nutritious meals, support high-quality care through food, and follow recipes while recording information accurately.

You’ll work with experienced colleagues to ensure hygiene, safety and resident wellbeing in a warm, respectful environment. You’ll need some kitchen experience and an interest in developing your catering qualifications, with safeguarding training and a patient, compassionate approach at

Qualifications

• NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation or willingness to work towards it.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow recipes and record information accurately.
• Treat Residents and co-workers with patience, respect and kindness.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation under direction of Chef/Cook.
• Serve meals with warmth and respect in a timely manner.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene of equipment and surfaces.
• Monitor and record food storage temperatures.
• Support stock rotation and proper storage of ingredients.
• Mentor new team members on safe kitchen equipment use.
• Wash up and keep the kitchen tidy after busy periods.
