Job summary

Air Canada in the United Kingdom is seeking staff to accept, assign, and process cargo for inbound and outbound flights, including dangerous goods and perishables. You will manage documentation such as CVED and respond to inquiries from customers and HMRC, ensuring compliance with service levels.

Experience in air cargo and with systems like WebLynx, SmartLOAD, ABS, and the Transport Facilities site is an asset, as is DfT security training.

Qualifications

• Experience in the air cargo industry is an asset.
• Experience with WebLynx, SmartLOAD, ABS and Transport Facilities website is an asset.
• Security training by the DfT (Department for Transport).

Responsibilities

• Accept, assign, and process all aspects of cargo for inbound and outbound flights.
• Process dangerous goods, valuable cargo, live animals, and perishables for inbound and outbound flights.
• Process all relevant documents for inbound and outbound flights, including CVED for perishable cargo.
• Respond to inquiries from customers, warehouse staff, HMRC, and others as needed.
• Verify unbundling and storage, and process discrepancy reports.
• Process cargo that does not meet customs requirements and verify shipment weight.
• Ensure processing complies with service levels with Customer Service.
• Liaise with transportation companies for booking and transportation of cargo to the UK and EU.
• Liaise with Customer Service to plan activities based on space for priority cargo.
• Assist the Cargo Receiving Agent as needed.
• Keep British Airport Authority airside pass up to date as needed.
• Ensure compliance with Air Canada University online training.
