Job summary

Helping Hands Cambridge is seeking a Care and Training Practitioner for a part-time, permanent role. The position involves coaching new carers from interview through onboarding, maintaining quality and compliance, and supporting customer relationships across the branch.

You will lead by example, visit customers, conduct spot checks, and assist with audits while fostering a supportive team culture. The role includes on-call duties as per the branch rota.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Care Assistant and a desire to take the next step in your career.
• Full, clean UK driving licence and access to a roadworthy, insured vehicle.
• Strong communication skills and a supportive, encouraging approach to working with others.
• A keen eye for detail and confidence in maintaining compliance and quality standards.
• A people-first mindset – calm, kind and ready to lead by example.

Responsibilities

• Train, mentor and support new carers so they feel confident, capable and ready to deliver extraordinary care.
• Assist the branch team with compliance, auditing and documentation.
• Complete spot checks and supervisions to maintain high standards across your care team.
• Visit customers to review care plans, ensuring they remain accurate, safe and person-centred.
• Carry out risk assessments with care, clarity and professionalism.
• Support on-call duties in line with the branch rota.
