Job summary

Hill Care is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to help prepare, cook and serve meals for residents in a care centre. You will support the cook, ensure meals meet high standards, and adapt menus for residents with special dietary needs such as soft diets or diabetes-friendly options.

The role requires reliability, care, and good communication. Full training is provided, and prior care experience is advantageous. A Food Safety Level 2 certificate is preferred or you may work towards it.

Qualifications

• Experience in care environment is advantageous.
• Willingness to work towards Food Safety Level 2.
• Full training provided for the role.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation, cooking and serving of meals.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas.
• Follow health and safety policies and report hazards.
• Respect dietary requirements and cater to soft/diabetic diets.
• Attend mandatory training and meetings as required.
• Ensure confidential information is handled appropriately.
