Job summary

HC-One is seeking a Kitchen Assistant in Sunderland to support dementia, nursing, residential, and specialist care homes with nutritious meals and kind service. The role emphasizes dignity and respect for Residents and requires patience and a genuine caring attitude.

Experience in catering/kitchen environments is valued. An NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation or willingness to pursue it is expected, with emphasis on accuracy, organisation, and following recipes.

Qualifications

• Some kitchen experience is preferred.
• Willingness to work toward an NVQ2 in Catering/food preparation if not already qualified.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation under supervision of Chef or Cook.
• Serve meals with warmth and respect in a timely manner.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene for equipment and surfaces.
• Monitor and record food storage temperatures and stock rotation.
