Job summary

KPI Recruiting Ltd is seeking experienced Care Home Chefs for roles across Lancashire and surrounding areas. Flexible shifts, from a few shifts weekly to full-time temporary work, with ongoing assignments to suit availability.

You will prepare fresh, nutritious meals, meet dietary needs and maintain high standards of hygiene in care home kitchens. Opportunities across various care home settings with ongoing temporary and relief chef assignments, weekly pay and immediate starts available.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS is required.
• Previous experience as a Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, Head Chef, Chef or Cook.
• Experience working in care homes, healthcare, education, hospitality or high-volume catering.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene and food safety standards.
• Experience preparing meals for larger groups.
• Understanding of nutritional requirements of older people.
• Experience catering for specialist dietary requirements and allergies.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and stay calm under pressure.
• Flexible and reliable approach to temporary and agency work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present fresh, nutritious meals for residents.
• Plan and prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks in line with service requirements.
• Cater for a range of dietary needs including allergies and special diets.
• Ensure meals are well presented and tailored to residents' preferences.
• Monitor food quality, portion sizes and presentation standards.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment.
• Complete daily food safety checks, like temperature monitoring and records.
• Follow HACCP procedures and comply with food hygiene regulations.
• Store food, ingredients and cleaning products safely.
• Follow company policies on Health & Safety, infection control and safeguarding.
• Adapt to different kitchen teams and working environments.
