Job summary

KPI Recruiting Ltd is seeking experienced Care Home Chefs to work across Northampton and surrounding areas. You will deliver fresh, nutritious meals in care home settings, with attention to dietary needs and high quality service, while adapting to different kitchen environments.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS clearance is required.
• Previous experience in care homes or healthcare settings.
• Experience cooking for large groups.
• Understanding the nutritional requirements of older people.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present fresh, nutritious meals for residents.
• Plan and prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks in line with service requirements.
• Cater for a range of dietary needs, including allergies, diabetic diets, vegetarian, vegan and texture-modified meals.
• Ensure meals are well presented and tailored to residents' preferences wherever possible.
• Monitor food quality, portion sizes and presentation standards.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment.
• Complete daily food safety checks, including temperature monitoring and kitchen records.
• Follow HACCP procedures and ensure compliance with food hygiene regulations.
• Store food, ingredients and cleaning products safely and correctly.
• Follow all company policies relating to Health & Safety, infection control and safeguarding.
• Adapt confidently to different kitchen teams and working environments.
