Job summary

KPI Recruiting Ltd in the Nottingham area is seeking experienced Care Home Chefs to work across local care homes. Whether you want a few shifts a week or full-time temporary work, there are regular assignments to suit your availability.

You will prepare fresh, nutritious meals and adapt to residents' dietary needs while maintaining high kitchen standards. This role offers competitive hourly rates of £15-23, weekly pay and flexible, ongoing temporary placements across multiple sites with

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS certification.
• Previous experience as Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, Head Chef or Cook.
• Experience in care homes, healthcare, hospitality or other high-volume catering.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
• Experience catering for larger groups.
• Understanding nutritional needs of older people.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Flexible and reliable for temporary/agency work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present fresh, nutritious meals for residents.
• Plan and prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.
• Cater for dietary needs including allergies and texture-modified meals.
• Ensure meals are well presented and tailored to residents' preferences.
• Monitor food quality, portion sizes and presentation standards.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment.
• Complete daily food safety checks and records.
• Follow HACCP procedures and hygiene regulations.
• Store food, ingredients and cleaning products safely.
• Follow health & safety and safeguarding policies.
• Adapt confidently to different kitchen teams and environments.
