Job summary

KPI Recruiting Ltd is seeking experienced Kitchen Assistants for ongoing temporary and relief assignments across Bath and surrounding areas. You will support busy kitchens with meal preparation, service to residents and strict hygiene standards.

Roles offer flexible shifts, weekly pay and immediate starts, with opportunities across various care home settings. Prior experience in care settings and a collaborative team mindset are valued.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS is required.
• Experience as Kitchen Assistant, Catering Assistant, Kitchen Porter or similar.
• Experience in care homes or healthcare settings is desirable.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, hardworking and flexible.

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs with basic food preparation and meal service.
• Prepare ingredients, snacks, drinks and simple food items as required.
• Serve meals to residents in a friendly and professional manner.
• Assist with setting up and clearing down dining and kitchen areas.
• Wash dishes, utensils, pots and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen environment.
• Follow food hygiene and food safety procedures at all times.
• Store food, ingredients and cleaning products safely and correctly.
• Support the kitchen team during busy meal services.
• Follow instructions regarding residents' dietary requirements, allergies and texture-modified meals.
• Follow all company policies relating to Health & Safety, infection control and safeguarding.
• Adapt confidently to different kitchen teams and working environments.
