Job summary

NHS Ayrshire & Arran in Crosshouse is seeking an Assistant Technical Officer to join the Clinical Physiology team. The role focuses on delivering Cardiology support within University Hospital Crosshouse, enabling high quality patient care.

The post is a 30-hour per week permanent position, with Monday to Friday shifts. The successful candidate will work closely with clinicians to perform ECG, spirometry and related measurements in a busy, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with 12‑lead ECG; basic ECG knowledge is essential.
• Experience in spirometry and ambulatory ECG monitoring is desirable.
• In-house training provided; knowledge of hospital patient management system is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide a 12‑lead ECG service for in-patients and out-patients.
• Carry out spirometry, 24-hour ambulatory ECG, BP setup/removal and resting Doppler.
• Work within a caring team; prior ECG knowledge helpful.
